Come Celebrate With Us Har-El's 61st Anniversary
This Weekend, January 11-12:

This weekend, January 11-12, Shabbat Parashat Bo, we will celebrate the 61st anniversary of our congregation.  Har-El’s chairman Zvi Giladi will speak on Friday evening. Our choir will participate in both services, accompanied by harpist Gittit Boasson on Friday evening and pianist Anastasia Sobolev on Saturday morning.


For the kiddush on Saturday morning: please bring with you light pareve/dairy refreshments (sweet or savory – baked goods, cookies, fruit, etc) ready to be served. 

Everyone is invited, and mazal tov to our congregation!


Meeting with a Pre-Military Preparation Program, Monday, June 14:
On Monday, January 14, Rabbi Ada will meet here at Har-El with female students participating the Alma Pre-Military Preparation Program (Mechina), for a conversation about the role of women rabbis in the Reform Movement.


Interfaith Program – Wednesday, January 16:

On Wednesday, January 16, Rabbi Ada will meet here at Har-El with a group of Christian university students from Holland for an interview about “Pilgrimage in Judaism.”


Shabbat Morning Lecture – January 19:

On Saturday morning, January 19, at 11:30 AM (following services and kiddush), in the framework of our Tarbudat Saturday morning lecture series, we will hear a lecture by Har-El member Inbar Erlich, instructor in literature and Israeli culture and pedagogical coordinator/vice-principal of the Har-Vagai school in Kibbutz Dafna on: "The Search for the Missing Key – Jewish Identity in the Secular State Education System."

All are invited!



Congregational Tu Bishevat Seder with Members of "Kehilah Tomechet" – Sunday, January 20:

On Sunday, January 20 at 5:30 PM, Tu Bishevat Eve, as part of our joint project with "Kehila Tomechet" and the Lev Ha'ir Community Center, together with Keren B'chavod of our movement, we will welcome here at Har-El elderly residents from the city-center and Nachlaot neighborhoods for a Tu Bishevat seder, led by Rabbi Ada and Cantor Evan. We will read from the hagadah created by Har-El member, artist Hannah Yakin, sing songs about the Land of Israel, and eat Israeli fruits.  All are invited!


Last Saturday morning, January 5, Daniel Ben Chaim from Jerusalem was called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah.  His brother, Shachar, also held his bar mitzvah here at Har-El two years ago.
