Morning service – Monday, October 14 at 9:30 AM, including the waving of the lulav, and accompanied by pianist Anastasia Sobolev. 
Sermon: Cantor Professor Eliyahu Schleifer.

Kiddush and light refreshments will be served in our “open sukkah” following the service.  All are invited!

An Invitation to the Sukkah of Har-El Members Jacqueline Brunschvig-Dan and Uri Berkonski:
Har-El members Jacqueline Brunschvig-Dan and Uri Berkonski invite Har-El's members to join them in their sukkah on the roof of their building on Wednesday, October 16, between the hours of 4-7 PM.  Their address is 59 King George Street (take the elevator to the seventh floor, and then up one flight of stairs to the rooftop).  Please let Jacqueline know if you will be coming at 02-623-4497.


Shmini Atzeret Services and Hakafot for Simchat Torah:

Holiday evening service, Sunday, October 20 at 6 PM, including hakafot (dancing) with egalitarian flags and sweets for the children.  Mazal tov and yishar koach to Werner Loval, who will be honored as "chatan m'onah".

Holiday morning service, Monday, October 21 at 9:30 AM, including hakafot with egalitarian flags and sweets for the children. The service will also include the prayer for rain and yizkor. Mazal tov and yishar koach to Har-El member Yael Tulaikova, who will be honored as "kalat torah" and to Har-El treasurer Tzvi Rosenthal who will be honored as "chatan beresheet".


Hakafot Shniyot at the "First Station", Mon. Night, October 21:

At the conclusion of Simchat Torah, on Monday night, October 21 at 8 PM, all are invited to dance once again at the hakafot shniyot organized by the Reform movement at the "First Station Compound", with the participation of the Jerusalem metropolitan area Reform congregations, including Kehilat Har-El.  Cantor Evan will lead the singing for one of the hakafot.

Beit Midrash in English on the Book of Joshua, Led by Rabbi Helen Bar-Yaacov, Opens for Its Third Year:

Har-El member Helen Bar-Yaacov invites the members of Har-El and the wider community to join her in a study of the book of Joshua in English. The class will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 4:30-6 PM in the sanctuary, beginning October 22.  Participation is free of charge.
