Overseas Bat Mitzvah Saturday Afternoon, February 15:

This Saturday afternoon, February 15, at a Shabbat mincha service, Adina Bluestein from Buffalo, New York will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah. 

Isaac, Adina's brother, held his bar mitzvah at Har-El three years ago (in the above photo).

Congregational Tu Bishevat Seder, This Sunday, February 16 at 5:30 PM.

This Sunday, February 16 at 5:30 PM, we will hold our Tu Bishevat seder which was postponed due to the wintry weather last week. The seder, led by Rabbi Ada and Cantor Evan, will be held in cooperation with "Kehilat Tomechet", the Lev Ha'ir Community Center, and "Keren B'chavod" of the Reform Movement, where we will welcome elderly residents of the city center and Nachlaot.  We will read from the Tu Bishevat haggadah created and illustrated by Har-El member, artist Hannah Yakin (pictured), sing songs of the Land of Israel, and eat Israeli fruits. Interfaith Meeting – Monday, February 17:

Next Monday, February 17, Rabbi Ada will meet here at Har-El with a group of Christian leaders from Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America studying at the Swedish Theological Institute on the topic of "Women in Judaism."


An Invitation to a Lecture (in English) by Rabbi Ada at the Na'amat Club, Tuesday, February 18:

Next Tuesday, February 18, at 1 PM, Rabbi Ada will deliver a lecture in English to the members of the Sophie Udin Club, the English speaking branch of Na'amat.  The topic of her talk will be: "Being a Reform Female Rabbi in Israel – Vision and Challenges."


The lecture itself will be held at "Beit Hachevrah", 10 Shalom Aleichem Street, Jerusalem (across from the Inbal hotel).  The fee is 20 NIS, and the proceeds will assist the Na'amat day care center, help provide scholarships for children-at-risk, and more.

* At 12:30 PM, light refreshments and a social gathering will be held prior to the lecture.


Save the Date – Saturday Morning Lecture, February 22:

On Saturday morning, February 22 at 11:30 AM (following services and kiddush), in the framework of our Saturday morning lecture series, Har-El vice-chairman Yaacov Nof will speak (in Hebrew) on: "My Work as a Tour Guide with the Bible." All are invited!
