Bat Mitzvah of Rina Barre-Cohen, Daughter of Miri & Cantor Evan, This Saturday Morning, July 13:

All of the members of Har-El are invited to the bat mitzvah of Rina Barre-Cohen, daughter of Miri & Cantor Evan, this Saturday morning, parashat "Balak", July 13, and to a festive kiddush following the service in the congregation's garden.

Due to the large number of expected participants, members of the congregation are asked to arrive early in order to sit in reserved spaces near the front of the sanctuary (on the cantor's side).

Event in the Har-El Garden with the "Lev Ha'ir" Community Center, Wednesday, July 17:

In the framework of our congregation's community involvement programs in the city-center and together with "Keren B'chavod" (the Israeli Reform Movement's social justice fund), "Kehilah Tomechet" and the Lev Ha'ir community center, we will welcome here at Har-El elderly residents of the city-center and Nachlaot neighborhood for a special program led by Rabbi Ada and Cantor Evan on Wednesday, July 17 at 6 PM in our garden.

At this event, the members of the community choir "Harmonica" that meets at Har-El will perform a number of songs.

All of our members are invited to participate and support this special program.


Two Bnai Mitzvah Ceremonies from the USA at the Egalitarian Kotel Next Week:

Thursday, July 18: Jack Kelsen from Merion Station, Pennsylvania.


Later that morning: Stephen Miller from Los Angeles, California.

Shiatsu Treatments at Kehilat Har-El (Free of Charge):

Keren Kuperwasser is a shiatsu therapist with 24 years of experience in the field.  She recently made aliyah and has opened a private practice. Keren is happy to give, here at Har-El, a series of treatments for improving one's wellbeing.

The treatments for Har-El members will be given free of charge on Monday afternoons, here at Har-El.  Those treated can express their thanks by making a donation to Har-El and by referring Keren to others.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Ceremonies Last Friday, Saturday,
and This Past Week:


On Friday, July 5, Tamir Halevi was called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at the " Na Laga'at Center " at the Jaffa Port. His older brothers, Harel and Eitan, both had their bar mitzvah ceremonies with Kehilat Har-El as well.


On Saturday morning, July 6, twins Ido & Amit Regev from Modi'in were called to the Torah as bnai mitzvah.  Ido & Amit are the great grandchildren of Har-El members Regina & Aharon Zwergbaum z"l.


On Monday, July 8, Lauren Messian from Los Angeles was called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah.  Lauren's older sister, Chloe, celebrated her bat mitzvah through Kehilat Har-El.

Dear Cantor Evan and Rabbi Ada,

Thanks again for all you did for us yesterday and making it truly a memorable celebration!! Our family is very grateful and enjoyed the entire celebration.
