Shabbat Services This Weekend, October 15-16:

Shabbat evening service – Friday, October 15 at 6 PM.  In place of a sermon, there will be a limud Shabbat led by Har-El member Tali Ben Dror.


Shabbat morning service – Saturday, October 16 at 9:30 AM. Har-El member Yael Tulaikova will read Torah and Har-El member Michael Millgram will read the haftarah.


Services this weekend will be led by Cantor Evan (Rabbi Ada has the weekend off).


*** Shabbat services this weekend will be the last time that we use the prayerbook "Ha'avodah Shebalev".  Beginning next Friday, October 22, we will use the new Reform prayerbook "T'filat Ha'adam."

Next Week -  Guided Tour of the Bible Lands Museum by Har-El Member Rabbi Helen Bar-Yaacov:

All of the members of the congregation are invited to a guided tour of the Bible Lands Museum led by Har-El member Rabbi Helen Bar-Yaacov.  The subject of the tour is "The cultures of the peoples surrounding Israel."


The tour will be led in Hebrew and English and will be held on Wednesday, October 20 at 4:30 PM. We will meet at the entrance to the museum.


Entrance to the museum is according to the green badge (tav yarok) rules, and during the tour one must wear a mask.  There is an elevator to the exhibit hall.


The cost to enter the museum is 22 NIS for senior citizens and 44 NIS regular admission.  Payment is in cash (please bring exact change).


In order to prepare accordingly, please let Har-El administrator Shany Shlomo know if you will be participating in the tour at 053-649-9584.


"Journeying Through the Tanach": an English Beit Midrash Led by Har-El Member Rabbi Helen Bar-Yaacov:

The next class will be held at Har-El on Tuesday, October 19, at 4:30 PM.

The beit midrash is open to everyone, including those whose native language isn't English.

Study with Rabbi Ada Resumes – Classes in Bible and Gemara:

Weekly, on Mondays at 6 PM, beginning October 25: on the books Ezra & Nehemiah.


Monthly, on the last Wednesday of every secular month at 6 PM, beginning November 24, where we will study various different passages in the Gemara.


All of the classes will be held over Zoom and will also be livestreamed to Har-El's YouTube channel.


Save the Date – Dedication of a City Plaza in Memory of Har-El Member, Artist David Rakia z"l:

All of our members are invited to a ceremony to dedicate a city plaza in memory of Har-El member, artist David Rakia z"l, on Tuesday, October 26, in the presence of Jerusalem mayor Moshe Leon.


Where and when: 15 Shlomtzion Hamalka Street, Jerusalem (corner of Shomtzion, Ben Sira, and King Solomon).  4:30 PM – gathering; 5 PM – beginning of the event.
